The Springfield Armory was founded in 1777 by the direct order from George Washington. To store revolutionary arms and ammo. The original location was in Springfield, Massachusetts and the place is nowadays only a museum as the original line of production was closed in 1964.

The armory was a supplier of arms in every major American conflict and had been a birthplace of many unique designs that are used to this day.

The original company was licensed in 1974 to Robert Reese and thus Springfield Armory Inc. was founded. The current place of production is Geneseo, IL. The company’s philosophy is now to preserve original arms designs and production of semi-automatic M1911 pistols as well as the famous and legendary M1 Garand and M14 rifle. The company produces new designs at the same time and upgrades their portfolio annually to please the shooting world.
